The wedding of Lord Gaursundar with Goddess Vishnupriya is considered to be an auspicious event in Gaudiya. This event holds a spiritual significance as it signifies the wedding of Lord Krishna with Srimati Radharani, the wedding of Lord Dwarkesh with Goddess Rukmini, the wedding of Lord Ram with Goddess Sita Maharani.

Goddess Vishnupriya Thakurani loved Lord Gaursundar at first sight on the banks of river Ganga. The Lord arrived at the House of Goddess Vishnupriya Thakurani in a palanquin and married Her. The wedding of Lord Gaursundar with Goddess Vishnupriya Thakurani signifies the wedding of Goddess Mahalakshmi with Lord Vishnu.
Goddess Vishnupriya has been an ardent follower of Lord Vishnu since childhood. She was equipped with Godly qualities and always remained absorbed in the ecstatic love for Lord Gaursundar. Goddess Vishnupriya followed a spiritual life on the orders of Her Husband Lord Gaursundar and performed congregational chanting on the Holy name of the Lord.

Goddess Vishnupriya says about Lord Gaursundar, ei bostu ti shudhu amar, means Lord Gaursundar belongs to Goddess Vishnupriya thakurani only.
