Lord Nimai and His childhood

Lord Gaursundar became popular as Lord Nimai, as He was born under a neem tree. Nimai is widely famous in Navadwip for his outstanding charm, intelligence and extraordinary capabilities. Due to His fair complexion, Lord Gaur came to be known as Lord Gauranga Dev. He was a Brahmin scholar and was born to Jagannath Mishra and Sachi Devi. 

Lord Nimai is famous for his mischievous and outstanding intellect. He has in his childhood. Lord Nimai mastered logic, or nyaya shastra; grammar; and literature in His childhood. At a young age, he ran his own school and was one of the best scholars in Navadwip. Moreover, Lord Nimai has successfully defeated a plethora of scholars with His outstanding debating skills. He defeated scholars like Keshab Mishra, Mukund, and Sarbhom Bhatacharya with his skills.

In His own school, Lord Nimai used to educate the students in literature and Sanskrit. Later on, He spread the cult of devotional life and focused on leading the devotional life. He preached the devotion of Lord Krishna and Srimati Radharani in His Radha Mahavaab. Later on, He taught His followers to engage in congregational chanting of the holy name of the Lord. 

Lord Nimai taught the importance and the way to live a devotional life. He lived a spiritual life and dedicated his life to intense devotional chanting or sankirtan yagna. The early phase of His life is focused on the combination of supernatural childhood activities and high scholarship. Since His childhood, Lord Nimai dedicated His life towards living a spiritually significant life. He used to spend hours of his life chanting the Holy name of the Lord in the company of his beautiful wife, Goddess Vishnupriya Thakurani.
